This is a recreation of a 1970’s Pong style home games console using the sprite assets from my previous Arkanoid clone game. In keeping with the spirit of these early systems there are four games on offer, 3 two player and 1 single player. All games use keyboard controls.
Traditional two player Pong game. Each player controls a single bat, one on each side of the screen. They hit the ball back and forth betwen each other as in tradional tennis and score points when their oppenent misses the return shot. The first player to score 15 points wins.
A variation on the tradional Tennis/Pong game, above, were each player has two bats to control and the ball exit is narrowed to a smaller goal apature. Play continues the same as Tennis with each player trying to return the ball and hit it through the players goal. Both player bats move vertically together, with the rear bat guarding the goal. The forward bat is a striker and can also be moved horizontally. The first player to 15 points wins.
In this variation both player bats are on the same side of the screen and the only ball exit point is behind them on the right. Again players take it in turn to hit the ball with the last player to touch the ball scoring the point when the ball leaves the screen. The first player to 15 points wins.
The only single player game is played the same as Squash but with one bat. The player loses 1 point every time the ball leaves the screen. When the player loses 15 points the game is over. The goal is to keep the ball in play for as long as possible.
